Muddart Studios is the creative work of Margaret McNett Burruss. I am a potter and freelancer living right in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. My work has two facets: Muddart Consulting and Muddart Pottery. I am in the process of updating this site to include my more recent work as a ceramicist, so keep checking back.
Muddart Pottery is my ceramic business. I have been potting on and off since high school. More recently (November 2017), I finished re-establishing my studio after many years without a home for it. I’m in the midst of developing a new body of work, and creating new designs. I plan to have an online store soon (stay tuned). I am also on Facebook (@Muddart.Studios) and Instagram (@margaretmcnett).
Muddart Consulting is my internet strategy consulting business. I have been a techie almost as long as I’ve been a potter – I took my first computer programming class the year after I took my first ceramics class in high school. I have my bachelors degree from UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce, where I concentrated in information technology. I spent many years in the tech industry, followed by a second career in nonprofit management, where I excelled in helping small nonprofits promote their work by taking advantage of tools readily available on the internet.
Muddart Consulting helps artisans, artists, small businesses and small nonprofits find the most cost-effective methods to promote and manage their business or organization. I assist with website design, social media strategy, social media management, software evaluation, and software training.
